John B. “Jack” Hatch, 80, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, after a courageous 18-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born on November 29, 1943, in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Marie (Kearns) Hatch.
Jack graduated high school from St. Albert Junior Seminary in Middletown, NY. He received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, master’s degree from Kutztown University, and his principal certification from Lehigh University. Jack enjoyed working for 27 years as a guidance counselor at Francis D. Raub Middle School and William Allen High School. After retiring from the Allentown School District, he worked at Miller-Keystone Blood Center for 10 years.
Jack was a member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem and a former member at St. Thomas Moore, Allentown. He was also a member at Blue Ridge Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing in his free time. Above all, Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Jack will be dearly missed by his wife, Joanne (Pilch) Hatch with whom he would’ve celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 15 of this year; son, Timothy (Melissa) Hatch; daughter, Jennifer (Teran) Judd; two brothers, Joseph E. (Gwen) Hatch, Jr. and Terence Hatch; one sister, Sr. Joseph Marie Hatch, DM; grandchildren, Kelsey Judd, Kaitlyn Judd, Karis Judd, Madison Hatch, and Patrick Hatch; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles M. Hatch and sister, Anne Hatch.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
