John C. Glancy

August 16, 1928 — October 23, 2008

John C. Glancy, Jr., 80, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his residence.

He was born August 16, 1928 in Bethlehem, the son of the late John C. Glancy, Sr. and the late Thelma Swavely Glancy.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Genevieve L. Curzi Glancy of Bethlehem.

He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Jack retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. after 42 years of service with the open hearth and BOF.

He was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Bethlehem and current member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church, Fountain Hill.

Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Genevieve; son, Brian K. Glancy and daughter, Denise M. Glancy both of Allentown and his three grandchildren, Craig, Brad and Zachariah. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Kline of Bath and brother, Richard M. Glancy and his wife Joan of Bethlehem.

Jack was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Calan Glancy; his sister Frances Doll and his brother Bernard Glancy.

Jack was an avid Notre Dame, Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a lifelong member of both the Fountain Hill Democratic and Republican Clubs and a member of the Jefferson Democratic Club.

The family will receive friends from 8-9:30AM on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 27, 2008 at 10 AM at St. Ursula's Catholic Church 1300 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015
