John C. Lavan

John C. LaVan, 93, of Bethlehem died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem.

Born September 16, 1914 in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Mary Anderson and John Levan.

He was married to Helen Kousz LaVan with whom he would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on December 2.

John worked at the Bethlehem Steel as a blacksmith in Department #738162A for 45 years. He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen, daughter Roseann Pastir wife of Robert of Whitehall, son, John LaVan and wife Cynthia of Sparks, NV, sisters; Mary Boyko and Anne Kellog, grandchildren; Jennifer Lucci, Robert Pastir, Patrice Fortin, Christine and Natalie LaVan. He will also be missed by nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Veronica Isaac and brother, Stephen Levan who died serving his country in World War II.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM, Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church in John?s name.
