John C. Parker

December 10, 1914 — March 5, 2010

John C. Parker, 95, of Bethlehem, Pa. passed away Friday March 5, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 10, 1914 in Plymouth, Pa. , a son of the late Jay and Myrtle Picton Parker. He was the husband of Miriam Haas Parker. They celebrated 58 years of marriage this past December 30th.

John worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. and retired after 36 years. After retirement he continued making and painting his lawn ornaments until he was 91 years old. He also attended the Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church for 58 years. He resided in Sebring, Fla. in the winter months where he enjoyed shuffleboard, bocce, and of course pinochle. All of his life he was an avid baseball fan, especially the New York Yankees. He knew all the stats and remembers hitchhiking to see games. Over the years, the Phillies became a close second. If a game was on TV he would surely be watching.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Miriam, daughters, Dr. Jacqueline Parker wife of Dr. Barry Silver of Bethlehem, and Cynthia wife of Jay Musselman of Coopersburg, grandchildren, Jason and wife Meggan, Jill and husband Benjamin, Lindsay and Dan, and great grandchildren Parker and Corban.
