John Clarkson, 90, of Bethlehem went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 28th. He was the husband of the late Helen Clarkson.
He was born on October 6, 1919 in Arlington, N.J. and was the son of the late John and Amanda Clarkson.
John was a graduate of Rutgers University. He worked for the DuPont Company for 40 years in Arlington, N.J. and Wilmington, DE. John served in WWII and received the Bronze Star for heroism in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Lehigh Valley Chapter. John and his late wife spent their retirement years in Whiting, N.J. and Sarasota, FL. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
John is survived by three daughters, Cathy, wife of Joe Smagala of Brookhaven, PA, Linda, wife of Joe McDonald of Bethlehem, and Donna, wife of the late Dr. Richard Stamer of Malvern, PA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the church.
