John E. Gotzon

September 11, 1930 — May 28, 2006

John E. Gotzon, 75, of Bethlehem Twp. peacefully died in his residence on May 28, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Yolanda ?Lonnie? Bucchin Gotzon.

Born in Bethlehem, John was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Fuch Gotzon.

John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John also played football and traveled the world while in the Army.

He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. in 1990 as a Foreman for the no. 12 Machine Shop after working for 43 years.

John is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife; daughter Dianne, wife of George Lacherza of Bethlehem Township; son, John M. Gotzon husband of Linda of Coopersburg; brother Francis Gotzon of Bethlehem and four grandchildren Matthew, Luke, Gabrielle and Nicole as well as nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his brother and sister.

John had a passion for sports. He was an avid outdoorsman, cheered for the Univ. Of Notre Dame football team and enjoyed coaching. In 1980 John was named Honorary Lifetime Member of the F.B.T.A.A

He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, country music and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a lifetime member of the Jefferson Democratic Club.

John will forever be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2006 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem from 7-9PM and again at the funeral home on Thursday June 1, 2006 from 8:30-9:30AM

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday June 1, 2006 at 10AM

Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society Lehigh Valley Unit 2121 City Line Rd. Bethlehem PA 18017
