John E. Husser, Sr.

February 26, 1924 — March 1, 2009

John E. Husser, Sr., 85, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's.

He was born February 26, 1924 in Bethlehem, the son of the late Emil and Emma Braxmeier Husser.

John was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61 years, Armendelia "Dena" Husser on March 25, 2008.

John proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific Theater and with the occupation forces in Japan.

He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. as a Production Supervisor in the steel foundry after 39 years of service.

John was a lifelong member of University Parish of Holy Ghost, Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family, sons, John E. Husser, Jr.;Daniel E. Husser and his wife Carol; daughters Gail Nakata and her husband

Ron and Michele Husser all of Bethlehem, as well as five grandchildren, Nathan Husser and his wife Maureen Quinn, Joshua Husser and wife Crystal, Emily Husser, R.J. Nakata and wife Lina, and Sheri wife of Bruce Pudliner. John is also survived by his sisters, Magdalene Price, Joan Bennett and Rosemary Zimbar.

John was preceded in death by his sister Constance Danner and brothers

Carl, Joseph, Thomas, Emil and Richard Husser.

Arrangements have been made with the guidance of Connell Funeral Home, Inc. Bethlehem

The family will receive friends from 9-10 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2009

at University Parish of Holy Ghost 419 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem with a Mass

of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 10AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church and

or to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare 1165 Island Park Rd,

Easton, PA 18042.
