John E. Markwith

John E. Markwith, Sr., 80, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, December 16, 2017. He was born September 24, 1937 in Scranton, PA; son of the late Frank and Emily Markwith. John was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Markwith and his son, David Markwith.

Upon graduation from West Scranton High School, John proudly served in the US Army. John worked as a lithographer and later a purchaser for Alcom, formerly Lehigh Litho. His tremendous work ethic made it possible for him to work until his retirement at the age of 70 years old.

John will be remembered as a proud, simple man who enjoyed golfing and the casino life. John was fortunate enough to see his grandchildren become adults.

John is survived by his son, John E. Markwith, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Bethlehem Twp.; daughter, Jennifer Huber and her husband, Tim of Bethlehem; and grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Markwith and Jenna Huber. He was predeceased by his four siblings.

Services have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home and will be private.
