John G. Bergan

John G. Bergan, 71, of Bath died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 in the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's. Born in Newark, NJ he was the son of the late John G. and Nette Mistretta Bergan, Sr.

Mr. Bergan retired from Conrail in 1985 after 29 years of service where had worked as a locomotive engineer. He had served as the Union Representative of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 601.

He served in the National Guard for 6 years.

He had been a member of the Slow Pokes, a car club in Avenel, NJ.

Surviving are 3 sons: Kenneth and his wife Heather of Nazareth, Edward and his wife Jenell of Washington, NJ and T.J. Bergan of Phillipsburg, NJ; 3 daughters; Kristine Bergan of Emmaus, Sue, wife of Tom Matthew of Bath and Lori Bergan of Allentown.

Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; Joshua, Ashley, Scott and Caitlin.

He was predeceased by a daughter Stacey Salisbury.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
