John Gimbar

April 24, 1933 — October 29, 2008

John "Zonny" Gimbar, 75, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at his Residence in Bethlehem, with his loving family around him.

John was born in Bethlehem and was the son of the late Vasil and Anna Bodak Gimbar and the husband of Dorothy A. Sterner Gimbar who he married in April of 1958.

John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Bethlehem Steel. John was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter PA 7

and American Legion



John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy, three sons, Steve Sterner and his wife Cindy of Bethlehem, Basil Gimbar and his wife Annie of Whitehall, David Gimbar and his wife Irene of Allentown, two daughters Theresa Taibi and her husband Salvatore of Slatington and Lisa Chuck of Bethlehem, 15 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

John is predeceased by his parents, four brothers, Andrew, Nickolas, William and George Gimbar and a sister Mary Pastelyak.

Friends may call on Monday, November 3, 2008, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A celebration of life service to follow at 11:00 AM.

Burial at Cedar Hill Memorial Park following service.
