John J. Brady

John J. "Duffy" Brady, 80, of Hellertown, PA died Saturday, July 11, 2009.

Born March 9, 1929 in Fountain Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Mary Dolinski and Martin Brady. He was married to Rose Dormer Brady with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage this past March.

John worked for Sears Department Store for 44 years as a salesman retiring in 1991.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Hellertown. Duffy was also a member of various social clubs throughout the Lehigh Valley.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose of Hellertown, daughters, Paula Haurie of Alexandria, VA, Eileen wife of Timothy P. Connelly of Bethlehem, and Beth wife of Bill Bronson of Bethlehem, sons, John E. Brady husband of Sue of New York City, NY and Patrick Brady husband of Trina of Macungie, sister, Mary Antoccia of Bethlehem. John is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, William and Martin Brady.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 5-8 PM. A calling period will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the funeral home from 8:30-9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church 1408 Easton Rd. Hellertown, PA 18055 at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John's name to the church or to Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's 1510 Valley Center Parkway-St. 200 Bethlehem, PA 18017.
