John J. Burkit

John J. Burkit, 74, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Laurel Center Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hamburg, PA.

Born July 12, 1932 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late William and Mary Pomberger Burkit.

John served as a Constable for Northampton Co. for many years. In addition, he was employed by the Bethlehem Area School District as a custodian for over 30 years prior to retiring on the late 1980's.

SURVIVORS He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Anna Vertilla and husband Joseph of Bethlehem, several nieces & nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.

He was preceded in death by a brother William and a sister Rose Marie Burkit.

Services: A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Thursday, December 7, 2006

from 10-11AM followed by a Graveside Service at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem at 11:30 AM.
