John J Kelleher

John Joseph Kelleher, 97 of Bethlehem.

God has taken John into his graces and called to join his loving wife Rosemary A. (Bittel) of 45 years. Jack Died Sunday January 27, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus.

He was born in Bethlehem, PA on October 5, 1915. John was the son of the late Patrick and Carrier Kelleher. Raised in Bethlehem and Philadelphia he attended North East Catholic Boys School with interests in baseball and track, graduating in "1934".

Moving back to Bethlehem married to Rosemary and starting working at the Bethlehem Steel, 48" Rolling Mill until his retirement in 1979.

John was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Also, Son, Kevin P. Kelleher, deceased in 1997.

John was a long time member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem and presently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township.

John was an avid "Fighting Irish" Notre Dame fan. Being Irish it was always "Top of the Morning to you" even when it wasn't St. Patrick's Day.

John had memories and talked about his childhood in Philadelphia and kept a captive family audience at gatherings.

Surviving: Daughter, Kathleen Miller and husband Alvin of Bethlehem Twp; Daughter, Diane Kellner and husband Edward of Phoenix AZ; Son, Keith S. Kelleher of Mt. Airy PA

Grandchildren: Amber Leis and husband David of Johnstown PA; Tyson Miller and wife Karrie of Bethlehem Twp.; Amanda Costa and husband George of Bethlehem Twp.; Bradley Kellner and wife Joey of Phoenix AZ; Derek Kellner and wife Crissy of Mansfield OH

Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Zachary, Rayna, Kadence, Willow, Xander, Alexis, Payton, Reid and Blake.

Funeral Services will begin on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1817 First Street Bethlehem Township, Pa.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation 3520 Lake Ave Suite 202 Wilmette, IL 60091in his wife's Rosemary Kelleher's memory.
