John J. Kuruc, 90, of Bethlehem passed away on Friday December 12, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. He was born on May 13, 1924 in Bethlehem, son of the late Adam and Veronica (Mingora) Kuruc. He was the husband of the late Lorena (Holschwander) Kuruc. John was a police officer and detective for the City of Bethlehem for 33 years retiring in 1986. After retiring he worked for the Northampton County Sheriffs Dept. John served his country in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He always enjoyed a round of golf and going to the track.
He is survived by his great niece, Jacqueline Loosbrook and husband Tony and longtime friend, Michelle Colbert and husband Jim all of Bethlehem, beloved grandpups, Charlie and Lucas, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Anna Bedics, Sophie Dvorscak, Irene Medgie, and Mary Ammend, and a brother, Charles Kuruc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Thursday December 18, 2014 at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
