John J. Paulson

John J. Paulson, 66, of Lower Nazareth Township, died Saturday July 28, 2007 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born February 1, 1941 in Bethlehem but raised in Fountain Hill. He was the son of the late Veronica Katrenak and John Paulson, Sr. He was married to Donna Smith Paulson with whom he would have celebrated 28 years of marriage this August 18.

John was a graduate of St. Ursulas in Fountain Hill and Allentown Central Catholic in 1959. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years as a Time Clerk and then became a supervisor of Data Processing in the Salary Payroll Division. He also was a Senior Business Systems Analyst for Benefits and Compensation for 11 years at EDS. John Served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 36 on the USS Valley Forge and USS Randolf. He was involved in the Cub Scouts in Hellertown as a Cubmaster in Pack 349 and also an Assistant Scout Master in Troop 349 for several years. He served as Vice President and manager for Hellertown-Lower Saucon Little League for a number of years. John was a member of the NRA, the Bass Masters, the JCAA Jersey Coast Anglers Association, and the Tri-Boro and Ranger Lake Hunting and Fishing Clubs.

John had a passion for fishing and hunting, which he enjoyed with his son and numerous friends.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, son, Anthony ?Tony? Paulson of Allentown, brother, Francis Paulson of Whitehall, sisters; Theresa Hail of San Diego, CA, Veronica and husband James Widick of Surprise, AZ, and Margaret and husband Michael King of Joppa, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his son Michael John Paulson in 1975 who is Anthony?s twin.

Services:

A viewing will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Tuesday July 31, 2007 from 6-9 pm and again Wednesday morning from 10-11 am. A Catholic funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 am.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

At John?s request casual attire is required.
