John Bealer, 85, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Holy Family Manor.
He was born in Upper Saucon, PA the son of the late William and Matilda Huttle Bealer.
John was preceded in death by his wife Violette M. Tutolo Bealer.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, serving in two tours during WWII. John was a B-17 bomber pilot and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
After serving in WWII, John remained in the Air Force Reserves for 25 years where he retired as Major.
He retired as a Computer Programmer from AT&T in 1986.
John will be lovingly remembered by his family; daughters, Janet Moyer of Bethlehem and Jane Bealer of Milltown, NJ as well as four grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Isabelle , and Dana; a brother Robert, and sisters, Pauline, and Grace.
John was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program of Northampton County and donated his time to the Bethlehem Area Public Library.
SERVICES
A Visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Monday January 29, 2007 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11AM in the funeral home.
Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem, PA
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Northampton County Meals on Wheels 4240 Fritch Dr. Bethlehem PA 18020 or the Bethlehem Area Public Library, Attn: Circulation 11 West Church St. Bethlehem PA 18018.
