John L. Daday

John L. Daday, 91, of Macungie formerly of Bethlehem passed away on Saturday October 1, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. He was born on February 7, 1920 in Bethlehem son of the late Joseph M. and Margaret Tertusek Daday. He was the husband of the late Bernadine C. Lesko Daday.

John was the chief clerk for County of Lehigh and worked in radio and television, WGPA, and Service Electric for 45 years retiring in 1993. He served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WW II He served on the City of Bethlehem Police Dept. as the first juvenile school safety officer. He organized the PFAL in Bethlehem and the Baseball Girls League.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Robert P. Daday of Oveido, Florida, brother, Bert Daday of Bethlehem, sisters, Ethel wife of Dr. Joseph Bartos and Bernadette Demyan both of Bethlehem, grandchildren, Diana Sagl and Christine Schmick, and 6 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers, Msgr. Stephen Daday, Paul Daday, and Joseph Daday.

A Prayer Service will be held 9:30AM on Thursday October 6, 2011 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Calling hours will be Thursday morning 8:30-9:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
