John “Babe” Lysy, 90, of Manville, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 5, 2014, in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Manville; he was the son of the late Max and Tilly (Vozne) Lysy. He was the husband of the late Mary (Shubiak) Lysy who died in 2008.
He was employed by the US General Services Administration in Bell Meade, where he retired from. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran and a member of the Manville VFW Post 2290. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Manville.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lorraine, wife of Steve Mangano; step-son, Joseph McGinn and wife, Florence; brother, Harry Lysy; sister, Violet Raczkowski; grandchildren, Brion McGinn and Nerissa McGinn Coyle. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret (Kolesar) Lysy.
A memorial service will be held at Country Meadows Chapel, 4007 Green Pond Rd, Bldg 3, Bethlehem, PA 18020, on Sunday Oct. 12 at 11 a.m.
