John Prestosh, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was born in Gouldsboro, PA, son of the late Onufer and Fannie (Danylo) Prestosh. He was the loving husband of Irene (Hoffich) Prestosh. They were married 64 years before her passing in 2011.
John was a hotel proprietor; he and his late wife owned and operated Hoffich's Hotel. He also worked as a maintenance engineer for Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 1982. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and a parishioner of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church where he volunteered many of his hours. He always looked forward to time with his grand and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him "Boo".
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Dr. Chuck Prestosh and wife, Jeralee; sisters, Mary Piripavel and Eva Dyrek; grandsons, Dr.Timothy Prestosh and wife, Laurie; and Atty. Daniel Prestosh and wife, Laine; great-grandchildren, Alix, T.J. and Lylah; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Prestosh; brothers, Nick, George and Charles; and sisters, Katie, Anna and Helen.
Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Sunday, March 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Church on Monday, March 25 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
