John R Bedics

John R. Bedics, 75 of Bethlehem Hanover Township, Pa. died Monday afternoon in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa.

He and his wife Cecelia Ann Talian Bedics celebrated their 38th Anniversary on Feb. 20th

Born in Bethlehem he is the son of the late Michael F. and Frances Anderko Bedics.

John proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict stationed in Iceland.

He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company for 39 years retiring in 1995 from the Saucon Electrical Upper Mills

He was a member of USW AFL/CIO Local 2599 and the Bypass Golf League at Bethlehem Muni Golf Club for 44 years.

He and his wife have been long time members of University Parish of Holy Ghost Church in Bethlehem.

John was a loving husband, father, "Pop-Pop", and brother. He loved life, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a big Lehigh sports fan.

Surviving with his wife Cecelia are his two daughters; Lisa wife of Thomas Haflett of Trappe, Pa. and Carol Bedics finance' of Ben Preston of Philadelphia, Pa. , hHis brother Michael of Bethlehem Twsp, Pa. and his two sisters Frances Cassidy of Louisville, KY and Margaret Luenis of Redding, CT in addition to his granddaughters Allison and Lauren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Bela "Gus", Frank and Stephen and his sisters Helen Rowe and Anne Mangum.

Funeral Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday March 27th at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in University Parish of Holy Ghost Church 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem

Friends my call on Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, Pa.
