John R. Kondash

John R Kondash, 83, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem.

He was born Bethlehem, and was the son of the late George P. and Catherine Schuster Kondash and the widower of 1st wife Mary Harkins Kondash who died in 1968 and 2nd wife Esther Unger Boehler Kondash who died in 1990.

John served in the U.S. Navy on the U. S. S. Ashtabula during WW II. John was the owner & operator of Johnny's Barber Shop in Bethlehem retiring in February of 2007 after 58 years of service. John was the past president of the Master Barber Association. He was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Bethlehem.



John will be lovingly remembered by son, Richard J. Kondash and his wife Kay of Nazareth, three daughters Kathleen M. Curzi and husband Robert of Bethlehem, Geraldine T. Pandaleon and husband Robert of Center Valley, and Mary Lynn Chesh and husband John of Bethlehem, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his parents, a brother George P. Kondash and six sisters Anna Strassberger, Catherine Henning, Veronica Russin, Elizabeth Barnak, Mary Kelhart and Helen Horodenski.

Friends may call Monday, April 30, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. Services Tuesday, May 1, 2007 9:30 AM Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
