John S. Fliszar

John S. Fliszar, 87, of Bethlehem died on Saturday, January 10, 2015. He was born September 30, 1927 in Bethlehem; son of the late John and Anna (Nemetz) Fliszar. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lorraine J. (Artinger) Fliszar.

John proudly served in the US Army during WWII. In 1985, he retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 35 years of service as a die sinker. He later worked for Lehigh University athletics for 20 years. John was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member and past president of the National Sokols and member of the Bethlehem Panthers A.A. John enjoyed bowling and was a Bethlehem Area Bowling Assoc. Hall of Fame Inductee. He also was an avid golfer, fisherman and sportsman.

John will be dearly missed by his daughters, Kathleen Molnar of Bethlehem and Bonnie Preisler and her husband, Joseph of Hellertown; sons, James Fliszar and his wife, Lorraine of Winter Haven, FL; John S. Fliszar, Jr. and his wife, Sarah of Manheim, PA; Thomas Fliszar and his wife, Felicia; and Richard Fliszar, all of Bethlehem. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Fliszar of Souderton, PA and his 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his son, William North; son-in-law, Frank Molnar; sisters, Mary Estojak and Helen Kalmar and brothers, Francis and Louis Fliszar.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Holy Family Manors St. Ann Chapel, 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 12-1 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Manor or St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Rd. Hellertown, PA 18055.
