John S. Racosky

June 21, 1920 — January 22, 2007

John S. ?Rocky? Racosky, 86, of Bethlehem died Monday January 22, 2007 at the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke?s, Lower Saucon Twp. Born, June 21, 1920, in Hazle Brook, PA; he was the son of the late Michael and Caroline Petrilla Racosky. He was the husband of the late Theresa M. Jancsarics Racosky.

John was a draftsman for the Bethlehem Steel for 23 years before retiring in 1976. He also spent 2 years in Hawaii drafting for the government. He was a past director of the Bethlehem Bowling Association and was inducted into the Bethlehem Bowling Hall of Fame in 1986. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Bethlehem, the National Sokols and the Lynn?s A.A. John was also an avid quoit player.

He is survived by: sons, Richard T., James J., and Michael D. and his wife Cindy all of Bethlehem; daughter, Joan K. Marmelo of Bethlehem; brothers, William of Allentown, and Thomas of Maryland; sisters, Pauline Mann of Allentown, and Irene Solderich of Lawrenceville, NJ; grandchildren, Joseph, Judy, and Lisa. He was preceded in death by: brother, Michael and, sister, Caroline Judt.

Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St; Bethlehem where visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday January 25th from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, 416 E. Fifth St; Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery of Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of St. Luke?s, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200; Bethlehem, PA 18017.
