John T. Dittbrenner

John T. Dittbrenner, 81, died on Thursday, March 16, 2017, with his wife by his side at their Bethlehem home. John was born in Freeland, PA, and was the son of the late Elias H. and Mary (Kovalchik) Dittbrenner.

John loved to fish, and spent many late afternoons at Saucon and Monocacy Creeks fishing with his son. He was also a talented artist; his sketches, charcoal drawings and oil paintings are treasured by his family. John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. It always brought him great joy to talk about his travels and experiences during that time, especially the years he spent stationed in Germany. A candy cook at Just Born for 50 years, John retired in 2007. He was a selfless man with a kind heart who above all loved his family and cherished his time with them.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, June; Children, Carol Dittbrenner and her husband Barak Zimmerman and John T. Dittbrenner, Jr. and his wife Christa and grandchildren Natalie and Jack Dittbrenner. He was preceded in death by his brothers Elias and Robert and his sister Dolores Hallas.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 10-11a.m. with a memorial service to begin at 11a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
