John W. Marini

John W. Marini, 90, of Bethlehem died Sunday November 25, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 6, 1922 in Passaic, N.J., son of the late Dr. Dominic and Myra (Goddard) Marini. He was the husband of the late Mary (Royko) Marini.

John was a scientist for the US government retiring in 1982 from the Goddard Space Flight Center 17 after 34 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during WWII. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering Physics from Lehigh University. He received his Ph D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. John was also a member of the Lehigh University Home Club, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the St. Luke's Hospital Chess Club.

He will be lovingly remembered by his nephews, Dr. Dominick Marini of Seattle, WA and Dr. Joseph Marini of Port St. Lucie, FL as well as his niece, Mary Stefchak of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank, and sister, Frances Ravwerdink.

A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Friday December 7, 2012 at St. John's Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church 617 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. A calling hour will be held 10-11AM at the church. Burial will be held at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
