John W. Tokar, 91, formerly of 16th Ave. in Bethlehem passed away Thursday August 16, 2012 at Country Meadows in Bethlehem. He was born on November 26, 1920 in Bethlehem, son of the late John and Mary (Kuchera) Tokar. He was the husband of the late Mary Charlotte (Coakley) Tokar.
John was an electrician working for the IBEW Local Union 375 for 37 years retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the MOOSE, and the National Sokols.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Margarite Sharpell of Pequannock, N.J., daughter, Patricia wife of Robert Knadler of Bethlehem, granddaughter, Carolyn wife of Robert Lenig, and great grandsons, Justin Lenig and Trevor Lenig, grandson, Brian Knadler and wife Amy, and great granddaughters, Alyssa Knadler, and Cayla Knadler,
He was predeceased by sisters, Catherine, Mary, Bernadine, and Josephine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday August 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. 18020. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. and Wednesday morning from 10-11AM at the church.
