Jose A. Costa

Jose A. Costa, 76, of Fountain Hill died Friday, December 9, 2022 in his home with his family by his side. Born in Tranconselos, Penalva Do Castelo, Portugal, he was the son of Maria DeJesus (Albuquerque) and the late Francisco Da Costa. He was married to Soledade A. (Amaral) Costa, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 22, 2023.

Jose came to the United States on February 5, 1972. He worked and retired from Lisbon Contractors and Jude Enterprise. He was a member of the Portuguese American Club in Bethlehem where he was a member of the folklore group, Portugal no Coracao. Every Sunday Jose would head to the club to play cards with his friends. He was an avid soccer fan and could be found cheering on his favorite team, Benfica. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Jose will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Soledade, mother, Maria, eight siblings, Alzira, Emidio, Ana Maria, Filomena, Luisa, Celestino, Carlos, and Amadeu, two grandchildren, Daniel, Jr., and Graci, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Costa, Sr.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joses name to Holy Infancy Church.
