Jose Desousa Ereio

Jose DeSousa Ereio, 87, of Bethlehem died on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St.Lukes Hospital. He was born November 2, 1920 in Providence, RI; the son of the late Joaquim and Annuncia Matela DeSousa. Jose was preceded in death by his wife Maria Joaquina Isidro Ereio in 1971. He worked several years in the construction industry and later retired in 1983 from St. Luke' Hospital. Jose was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Jose was a member of the Portuguese American Club of Bethlehem, where he enjoyed playing pool and was once a pool league champion.

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his family, daughter, Maria wife of Antonio Duarte of Bethlehem; son, Jose Luis Ereio of Green Bay Wisconsin two grandsons, Filipe and his wife Carrie of Collegeville, PA and Michael of Bethlehem as well as his great granddaughter Juliana.

Services: The family will receive friends on Saturday August 16, 2008 from 8-9:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 16, 2008 at 10AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem PA 18015.
