Joseph A. Timar, Sr.

Joseph A. Timar Sr., 90, of Alexandria Manor in Bath, Pa. formerly of Bethlehem, died

Saturday March 6, 2010 at the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. He was born on August 22, 1919 in Bethlehem son of the late Joseph J. and Theresa Grim Timar. He was the husband of the late Lena Stummer Timar who died in April of 1991.

Joseph was a machinist in the #2 machine shop for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 44 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem. He also served his country in the US Navy during WW II.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Joseph A. Timar Jr. and wife Connie of Allentown, sisters, Tess Timar Bringenberg and Betty Timar both of Bethlehem, grandchildren, Joseph A. Timar III and wife Christina of Bethlehem, and Jason E. Timar and wife Deena of Havertown, Pa. and 7 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Timar.

Services will held 10:30AM Wednesday March 10, 2010 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, Pa. 18017. A calling hour will be from 9:30-10:30AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
