Joseph E. Kozo

November 9, 1925 — February 9, 2018

Joseph E. Kozo, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Caroline (Vadasz) and Frank Kozo. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy M. (Danner) Kozo.

Joe proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for the Postal Service for 38 years, retiring as a supervisor and was a former state president of the USPS union. Joe also worked part-time delivering for the former Gromans Bakery. He was a member of the Hellertown American Legion, Panthers, MORA Club and a Wanderers life member. Joe enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles and coaching at Northwest Little League. Above all, he loved being a grandfather to his 4 grandsons.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Kozo; son, Michael Kozo and his wife, Patty; daughter, Karen and her husband Ronald Sparks and grandchildren, Christopher and Timothy Kozo, Ryan and Brandon Sparks. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Louis and Emery and sisters, Helen Kozo and Anna Steiner.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame Parish Center Fund, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
