Joseph G. Shimko

Joseph G. Shimko, 83, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Friday November 27, 2020 at Phoebe Home in Allentown, PA. He was born in Bethlehem, the son of the late Charles and Anna (Bednar) Shimko. He was the husband of the late Rita Anne (Cope) Shimko. Joseph worked as a printer for George P. Schlicher & Son retiring in 1985. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War 1955-1957. He was also very active in many of the local social clubs.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Gregory of Allentown, PA, Mark of Philadelphia, PA and David of Colorado, sister, Anne Mae Stern, and a grandson, Stephen J. Shimko. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy Shimko, and brothers, Charles Shimko, and Bernard Shimko.

A viewing will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday December 2, 2020 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 followed by a service at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the ASPCA.
