Joseph J. Kundek, 99, of Bethlehem died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Moravian Village in Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Mary (Lazorik) and Albert Kundek. He was married to Justine (Keltos) Kundek for 64 years until her death on September 13, 2007.
Joseph grew up in Czechoslovakia and returned to America when he was 20. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel for over 39 years as a heavy crane operator, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the USW. AFL/CIO Local 2600. He was also a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols and Incarnation of Our Lord Parish in Bethlehem.
Joseph will be lovingly survived by his son, Joseph M. Kundek and wife Veronica, daughters, Mary Ann Sine and husband, Dale, Justine Yuhas and Elizabeth Webb, grandchildren, Stephanie, Mary Ann, Melissa, Jason, Raymond, and Lisa, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Victor, and Jan Kundek, sister, Sophie Balogna, and son-in-law, Kelvin Webb.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 8-9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, at 10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.
