Joseph P. Boligitz

Joseph P. Boligitz, 89, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born on April 19, 1927, the son of Barbara (Gombotz) Boligitz. Joe was the loving husband of Irene (Kercsmar) Boligitz.

He was a devout Catholic, a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Bethlehem and a former parishioner of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church where he was a member of the choir, served on church council and was a former president of the Holy Name Society. Joe worked as an executive chauffeur for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. Joe loved to play golf, proudly accomplishing the feat of scoring a hole in one.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Irene Boligitz; son Joseph W. Boligitz and his wife Eileen; grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew and Aaron Boligitz and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony and Stephen Boligitz and sisters, Mary Schadle and Margaret Vuchko.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A viewing will also be held at Sacred Heart of Bethlehem, 1817 1st St. Bethlehem, PA 18020 on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 10-11 a.m with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
