Joseph Paul Blazovic, Jr., 66, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at his home in Bethlehem, PA. Joseph was born in Rahway, NJ on January 18, 1941. He was the son of the late Joseph P. and Mary Derkack Blazovic. He lived in Bridgewater, NJ for many years before moving to Bethlehem, PA.

Joe is survived by his long time love and companion, Carol A. Murray Sowul of Tewksbury, Township, NJ and Christian B. Sowul of San Francisco, California, Brent Allen Sowul, his wife Amy, and baby Parker of Westfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Linden High School, Linden NJ and proudly served his country in the US Air Force stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and also in Greenland.

Joe was a self-employed builder for 35 years doing most of his craft in New Jersey. He later worked for the McCutchen Friends Home in North Plainfield, NJ. He was a member of St. Anne?s Catholic Church in Bethlehem, PA.

Joe was a talented craftsman specializing in woodworking. He was meticulous in his work and could build just about anything out of wood. He was a great cook and was especially known for his Thanksgiving stuffing. Joe was a very special person and will long be remembered by those who knew and loved him for being his happiest when helping others.

Joe loved the water. His dream in life was to retire near the ocean where he could walk on the beach and go fishing in his Grady White boat.

Surviving in addition to Carol are three sons: Joseph P. III, Keith T., and Mark R., his brother Richard of Avenel, NJ, his sisters, Carole, wife of Walter Smialowicz of Piscataway, NJ and Gail Daly of Roselle Park, NJ. He has five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Dennis.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bruce Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 111 North Gaston Ave, Somerville, NJ and on Monday at 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA. Funeral services will be held at 10:15 AM at the Connell Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA.
