Joseph Ralph Richter, 67, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was born in Philadelphia and was the son of William J. and Caroline (Kollman) Richter. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Mary (Narolskey) Richter.
Joseph worked in various departments of the Bethlehem Steel. He later worked as a groundskeeper at DeSales University. He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, including insects; he truly cared for their well-being. Joseph also enjoyed scuba diving and found great peace in being on the road riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the joy that he brought into the lives of his family and friends.
Joseph will be dearly missed by his wife, Diane; brother, Raymond Richter and his wife, Susan; brother-in-law, Brian Duda; sister-in-law, Felicia Fliszar and her husband, Thomas; and sister-in-law, Marlene Richter; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Richter and his brother, Richard William Richter.
A graveside ceremony will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Nisky Hill Cemetery. Friends wishing to attend should gather at the Linden St. entrance.
