Joseph "Sam" Midash

Joseph “Sam” Midash, 91, of Bethlehem, after a long illness, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy (Ornowski) Midash, his high school sweetheart, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage this past June. He was born on March 19, 1927 in McAdoo, PA, and was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Galik) Midash.

Joseph served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Joseph worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation retiring in 1989. He was also a member of the VFW, Post: 15040.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Gary, and his wife Dorothy of Bethlehem; sister, Elizabeth McDonald of Tulsa, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John, and sister-in-law, Mary Midash of Newark, DE and brother-in-law, James McDonald of Tulsa, OK.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September, 29, 2018, at Our Lady of perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA.
