Joseph T. Butchko

Joseph T. Poot Butchko, 87, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, in St. Luke?s Hospital where he had been a patient for a few days. He was the husband of the late Olga M. Chaszar Butchko, who passed away in June.

Joe was born to parents Michael and Mary Butchko in Drifton, PA, and grew up in neighboring Freeland. He served in the Army during WWII, and upon completing that service, settled in Bethlehem Township. He was employed by the federal government defense contracts administration, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and his children and grand children.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Olga M. and his son Michael J. and is survived by a son Joseph and wife Marybeth Lehr, daughter-in-law Rose Wolfer Butchko, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018 on Friday December 1, 2006 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11AM in the funeral home.
