Joseph Terk Tertusek

Joseph "Terk" Tertusek, 81, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 under hospice care at his niece's home, Gina Dixon, R.N. in Bethlehem Township.

Born August 14, 1927 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Margaret Moconyi and Joseph Tertusek. He was married to his late wife, Eva DeAngelis M. "Dolly" Tertusek with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage this past March.

Joseph worked for the City of Bethlehem as the Mechanical Supervisor for 34 years. He was a member of various social clubs throughout the Lehigh Valley but he could usually be found at the Heights A.A., where he served as the Treasurer. Joseph was an avid golfer, involved in several golf leagues throughout the Lehigh Valley. He was also an avid bowler, bowling in leagues at the Catholic Sokols. He was a member of the Goodfellas and also Holy Infancy Catholic Church.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Sandra M. Hari of Bethlehem, son, Michael J. Chickey husband of Eve of Bethlehem, sister, Irene Venazi and husband Bill of Bethlehem, sister-in-law, Grace Tertusek of Bethlehem, grandchildren, Thomas Ackerman, Dion Chickey, Gina Dixon, R.N., Danielle Hari, M.D. and Jess Smith. Joseph is also survived by Seven Great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 4 nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Pinky" Tertusek, nephew, Charles Tertusek, Jr. and son-in-law, John Hari.

A viewing will be held at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on June 25, 2009 from 8:30-9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. Fourth St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM.

Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
