Josephine Ann Long

Josephine Ann Long, 92, a lifetime resident of Bethlehem, passed away on January 20th in Media, Pa.

Josie was born in Bethlehem to Joseph and Stella Maculesky on July 2, 1920. Over the years she was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church and was active for many years in the annual charity bazaar workshop. Most importantly, Josie was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and neighbor. She was an excellent seamstress and tailor, enjoyed her extensive garden each spring and summer, and loved the many dogs she pampered throughout her life.

Josie is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Stella; one brother Joseph; one sister Martha (Frank) Szvetecz; and her beloved husband Victor Paul Long.

Josie is survived by her brother Stanley (June) Maculesky of Bethlehem; son Victor (Roseanne) Long of Thornton, Pa.; daughter Susan (Edward) Kille of Pilesgrove, NJ; two grandsons Victor (Tammy) Long of Worthington, Ohio; Joseph Kille of Pennsville, NJ; and great-grandson Isaac Long.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church 1817 First St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18020. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of The Meadows at Martin's Run and to the Vitas Hospice Care in Media, Pa. for their excellent care, kindness, and support in her final days.
