Josephine Cunningham Gunn

Josephine C. (Cunningham) Haley Gunn a lifetime area resident, passed away on August 18th at Kirkland Village. She was 96 years old. Jo worked at the Bethlehem Steel Company as a secretary for 34 years and retired in 1981. After retiring Jo did volunteer work for the Bethlehem Visiting Nurse Association. Jo was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church and a member of the Sodality. She also belonged to the Bethlehem Women's Club and the Bethlehem Garden Club, where she was the Corresponding Secretary.

Jo was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Carolyn V. (Miller) Cunningham of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Haley and her second husband Howard J. Gunn Jr. and her sister Catherine Cunningham.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Mary Jo Siwy and family pet "Dutchess" of Walden, New York and her son Thomas J. Haley Sr. and his wife Jean of Shallotte, North Carolina; a brother William C. Cunningham of Bethlehem and a sister Sr. Charles Teresa Cunningham of St. Joseph's Villa of Flourtown, Pennsylvania; and her five grandchildren: Michael J. Siwy and his wife Sara and their children Lauren and Haley, Michele Greak and her husband Thomas, Donna Marie McCarthy and her husband Justin with their children Steven Howard and Kayleigh, Thomas Haley and his son Joseph, Patrick Haley and his daughter Patricia; and her loving companion, Harry H. Howard.

Friends may call on Friday 9a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Avenue. Bethlehem, P.A.

Interment will be private in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
