Josephine Frances Cech

Josephine Frances Cech, 89, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Country Meadows. She was born July 21, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA; daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Zawadski) Dalint. Josephine was the devoted wife of 64 years to her husband, the late Albert B. Cech.

Josephine was affectionately known as Baca to her family. She was proud of her home and enjoyed crocheting and baking. Josephine was well known for her kiffles and nut tossies; which she lovingly made for birthdays and special occasions. Josephine also appreciated the fun she had on bus trips to the casino. She was a parishioner of Incarnation of Our Lord (Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church) and would often attend Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Sacred Heart in Bethlehem Township.

Josephine was a 1952 graduate of Bethlehem High School (Liberty). She began her working career as a bank teller and later served as a lunch lady for the Bethlehem Area School District.

She will be dearly missed by her sons, Albert Cech, Jr., David Cech, and Michael Cech, grandchildren, AJ, Katie, Jennifer, Nick, Samantha, and Matt, five great grandchildren, and her sister Manush Bossard.

Josephine was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Schoenberger, and brother, Stanley Dalint.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
