Josephine "Jody" Janisch

Josephine M. “Jody” Janisch, 64, of Bushkill Township, died on February 11, 2023. She was born June 26, 1958; daughter of Frank and Adeline (Cauley) Passori. Jody is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Mark Lloyd Janisch. They were married on November 26, 1983.

Jody will be warmly remembered as a kind, caring, and selfless woman. She put the needs of others before herself in all aspects of life. Jody was pleased to keep a neat and tidy home and found peace in her routine. She was proud to be a devoted mother and doting grandmother. Jody had a great affection for her fur-babies, her beloved cats. In her earlier years, Jody enjoyed crafts, and more recently she had fun finding a great deal at an antique store or thrift shop.

Jody was raised in Easton and was a graduate of Easton High School. She was hardworking, dedicated, and organized. These attributes served her well as a guitar maker for 24 years at Martin Guitar.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Nazareth.

Jody will be dearly missed by her parents; husband, Mark; son, Matthew Lloyd Janisch and wife, Olivia; daughter, Laura Smith and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Madelyn Elizabeth Janisch, and Makenna, Rylee, Brayden, and Carson Smith; sister, Karen Sheets and husband, Guy; mother-in-law, Marion Janisch; brother-in-law, Timothy Janisch; as well as niece and nephew, Rachael, and Ryan.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, and again on Friday from 10:30-11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Scott Hall.
