Josephine L. Vargo

Josephine L. Vargo, 92, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2011.

She was born January 10, 1919 in Bethlehem; daughter of the late Ignatius and Agnes Szuter.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband John L Vargo.

She retired in 1981 after over 30 years of service as a seamstress in local mills and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U.

Josephine was a parishioner of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Center Senior Citizens Club.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dolores Marks and her husband Earl of Hanover Twp. and son, John J. Vargo and his wife, Olivia as well as her four grandsons, Earl Marks and his wife Sherri; Robert Marks and his wife Allison; John Vargo and his wife Kristen and Christopher Vargo; three great granddaughters, Jessica, Jordan and Alicia. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Zirko of Bethlehem.

Josephine was also predeceased by her sister, Catherine Lata and her brother, John Szuter.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2011 from 8:30-9:30 am at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Tuesday at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem PA 18018.

Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
