Josephine Obal

Josephine Obal, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Born in Taylor, PA, she was the daughter of the late Metro and Josephine (Garbowski) Vasievich. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank E. Obal.

Josephine worked as a Bookkeeper for MW Wood at Lehigh University for 29 years. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bethlehem, and above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Frank; daughter, Judith Froehlich & husband Milton “Buz”; grandchildren, Matthew and Alison Froehlich; and the light of her life, her great grandson, Jayden Desgouttes. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Joseph and Michal; and sisters, Mary Obal, Anna Timko and Stephanie Kauffman.

Visitation will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, on Tuesday April 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. An 11 a.m. funeral service will follow, in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
