Joyce Grace Bush Boksan, 83 of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Country Meadows Assisted Living in Bethlehem. She was the wife of Edward
Boksan who died December 30, 2003. The couple was married on August 17, 1957. Born in Bethlehem, PA on December 14, 1927, Joyce was the daughter of the late Victor S. and Lottie I. Moll Bush. She was a 1945 graduate of Liberty High School. Joyce worked for G.C. Murphy Company in the 1950's and later became a homemaker. Joyce was a very social person and enjoyed
taking day trips with family and friends. For many years, Joyce helped to make pierogies, nut roll and kiffles for her church, Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Bethlehem. She had many health issues during her lifetime but was always grateful for her doctors, nurses and those who cared for her at St. Luke's Hospital and at Country Meadows. Her family would especially like to thank her nephew, Ronald Weaver of Bethlehem, for his devoted care during the last few years of Joyce's life; Nancy Stano, her niece, for regularly visiting and helping
with care; and Joyce's good friends Walt and Lois Lilly for helping Joyce to get to the beauty shop each week.
Survivors: son, Gregory J. Boksan and his wife, Stacey, of Macungie; son, Edward J. Boksan and his wife, Karen of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Corey T. Boksan and Lauren N. Boksan both of Macungie; and Jana L. Boksan of Bethlehem; sisters, Eleanor E. Hallman and Marion I. Weaver, both of Bethlehem. Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Miles Bush and her sister Nancy A. Wagner.
Services: An Office of Christian Burial will be held, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. with a Panachida at 9 a.m. in the funeral home.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's
memory to St. Luke's Hospital, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
