Joyce L. Gehman

Joyce L. Gehman, 84 of Northampton, formerly of Allentown passed away peacefully on Sunday February 24, 2008 in Northampton Assisted Living. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Sterner Kindig.

Joyce worked at Spirax Sarco for 20 years and retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Pauls's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown. Joyce was active with the LCW of St. Paul's and the Emmaus Womens Club. She enjoyed reading and making crafts. Joyce was a very loving, caring, and compassionate mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Janice Gehman Tsihlis and husband George Tsihlis of Bethlehem, grandchildren; Stephanie Hoch, Stacy Tsihlis, Jeremy Tsihlis, Abigail Tsihlis, Kristy Barry, and Jessica Celone. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and three nieces.

She was predeceased by her son Scott K. Gehman and a brother John Kindig.

Services

A viewing will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 7-9 PM and again Friday morning February 29, 2008 from 9:30- 10:15 AM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. A service will be held Friday, February 28, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church 38 S. 8th St. Allentown, PA 18101.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's name to the church or to Heartland Hospice Services, Inc. 1227 Liberty St. Allentown, PA 18102.

Joyce's family would also like to thank the staff of Northampton Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion towards Joyce.
