Juan R. Ortiz

Juan R. Ortiz, 83, of Bethlehem died Monday March 23, 2009 at his residence. He was born on July 30, 1925 in Comerio, Puerto Rico son of the late Jose Rivera and Amalia Luna Ortiz. He was the husband of Ana O. De La Rosa Rivera. They were married for 48 years this past November.

Juan worked for Victaulic of Easton retiring after 18 years of service. He also worked for Atlantic States in Philipsburg, NJ , and Charles Market in Bethlehem. He was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church. He was known to be a very hard worker and strong-willed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ana, son, Raymond Morales of Allentown, daughters, Susana Ortiz wife of Angel of Bethlehem, Gladys Colon wife of Jose M. of Allentown, Matilda Rivera and Norma Rivera both of Florida, Laura Rivera and Edith Rivera both of Puerto Rico, brothers, Esperanza Rivera of Illinois and Pepe Rivera of Puerto Rico, sisters, Lydia Rivera, and Carmen Rivera both of Puerto Rico, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Services will be held 9:30AM Saturday March 28, 2009 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Calling hours Friday evening from 7-9PM at the funeral home.
