Juan Santiago

Juan Santiago, 85, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Pablo and Dolores (Serrano) Santiago. He was married to Margot F. (Fuentes) Santiago with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage this past June 29th.



Juan worked for Bethlehem Steel as a Hydraulic Repairman and retired as a Millwright. He was a parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem and its Holy Name Society serving as president for many years and the member of the church council. He served as president of a program in the Bethlehem School District which helped to get high school students into college. He was a Trustee and a member of the Spanish Council Board which helped create policies for employees. Juan also was a member of the Puerto Rican Beneficial Society and the Political Committee of the Lehigh Valley.



He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margot; daughters Diane Rosa Cornier and husband, Jorge and Mildred Marie Chew all of Las Vegas, NV; sons, John Santiago, Jr. and wife, Nancy, and Carlos Manuel Santiago and wife, Dorothy, all of Bethlehem Twp.; three brothers; one grandson, five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and a sister and son-in-law, Johnny Chew.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday, May 27th 8:30 to 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Juans name to Holy Infancy Catholic Church.
