Julia Marcincin

Julia Evancho Marcincin, 99, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, October 9, 2017. She was born in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia (Pastelak) Evancho. She was the loving wife to the late Frank P. Marcincin, Sr.

Julia worked for the former Hellertown Manufacturing Company as a Plug Tamper for 27 years before retiring in 1980. She was a former member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church of Bethlehem and a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church of Bethlehem.

Her past memberships and past offices held are: Vice president of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Calvary Council 528 and Monitor of Knights of Columbus Lehigh Valley Assembly 931 4th degree Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past secretary and on the Advisory Committee of Bethlehem Sr. Citizens Council of Buchanan St., a past secretary of Operation H.E.A.D. Sr. Citizens Golden Ages of Immaculate Conception Church of Allentown. A member of Lehigh Southside Boosters, the R.S.V.P. Catholic Social Agency, The Local U.A.W. Retired Workers Council 1238, The Greater Lehigh Valley Slovak Association, Inc., Midway Manor Sr. Citizens, Ladies Auxiliary of St. John the Baptist Church of Allentown, Notre Dame Catholic Church Sodality and Sr. Citizens Group and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Dominic the Dominicans. Julia also volunteered at Immaculate Conception BVM Church of Allentown in the office; and at Muhlenberg Hospital Center at the Emergency Desk.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Francis P. Marcincin, Jr. of Florida; her daughter, Julianne Darrow and husband, John of Fredericksburg, VA; three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Evancho; and sisters, Mary Kokosky, Anna Hitcho and Helen Kmetz.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
