Julius G. Loder

Julius G. Loder, 76, of Bethlehem died on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at St.Lukes Hospital.

He was born in Penn Allen, PA the son of the late Ambrose and Mary Hirschman Loder.

Julius is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anna Mae Buckanin Loder of Bethlehem.

He was a 1950 graduate of Nazareth Area High School where he was class president and captain of the baseball team.

Julius also played baseball for Bath Legion and in the Blue Mountain League.

After graduation, Julius was recruited to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates but instead proudly served 2 years in the U.S. Army as a military police officer stationed in Germany.

Julius retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. in 1998 after 36 years as a top life insurance agent. He was awarded the Presidents Club Award, Challengers Award and Key Club Award. Previously, Julius worked for Penn Dixie for 10 years.

Julius will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children, Cynthia wife of Tom Green of Lehighton; Michael Loder of Bethlehem; Debra Loder and Joe Korbler of Bethlehem; Suzanne Seeloff of Bethlehem; Christine wife of Kevin Krotzer of Bethlehem and Judith Jones of Whitehall as well as 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, eight sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, December 1, 2008 from 6-8PM and again on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 8:30-9:15AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 10 am.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
